Sewage sludge carbonization demo at HTCycle AG headquarters

On 4th of June 2018 a demonstration of sewage sludge carbonization was held at HTCycle AG headquarters. The event was attended by the mayor of Anklam, Mr. Michael Galander, representatives of Ministry of Economy, Labor and Health Mecklenburg-VorpommernGreifswald Wastewater Plant,  GKU GmbHZV-Festland-WolgastWater Supply and Sanitation Union Usedom IslandUniversity of RostockState Office for the Environment, Nature Conservation and GeologyTBI GmbH Neubrandenburg and Nordkurier.

We were honored to have at our head office the delegates and officials of the main institutions which focus and show interest in sewage sludge disposal with clean and profitable technologies.

The delegates were invited to take a tour at the HTC plant and were familiarized with the process and the main characteristics of our technology. We conducted a real demonstration of how the HTC plant works and provided insights into the control room. This demonstration marks the beginning of the commercialization of HTC technology in sewage sludge treatment, including integrated product recovery of activated carbon, ammonium sulfate and MAP (struvite).

The tour was followed by a presentation on HTC opportunities and its outcomes, offered by Mr. Stepan Kusche, CTO of HTCycle AG. The participants learned about the latest improvements of our technology and its economic and environment benefits.

HTCycle AG technology solves two of the greatest problems humanity currently faces: the sewage sludge and the ecosystem nutrient imbalance. Hydrothermal carbonization of sewage sludge and eventually the downstream extraction, generate valuable nutrients like phosphorus, sulphur, activated carbon etc. By generating these, we assure a close nutrients life cycle, thus contributing enormously to the ecosystem balance.
