HTCycle granted 1.9M Euros from EU's Horizont 2020 SME Instrument Phase II

HTCycle is proud to announce that the company has been awarded by the European Commission SME Instrument Phase 2, the company has been granted with 1.9 Mio € for research and development activities, testing, studies, design and piloting of innovative processes. The project starts on the 1st of September 2018 and will last for 24 months, this funding will boost and accelerate the strategic plan of our company.

The funds will be used to perform our unique cutting edge hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) technology. The sewage sludge reuse generates phosphate recovery, heavy metals and pharmaceutical residues extraction, the work is dedicated to the final integration tests of the whole process of hydrothermal carbonization (carbonization, separation, drying, recovery of phosphate and other valuables). The project will be carried out in cooperation with regional wastewater treatment plants and different agricultural and industrial sectors.

"Our team is delighted to have won this highly competitive project. It is a validation of our innovative patented technology and a confirmation that we are addressing a really significant issue with a relevant global market opportunity. We are about to enter the market with this groundbreaking innovation that enables a completely new approach to the sewage sludge treatment", Uwe Kuhnle, CEO of HTCycle GmbH

"This project comes exactly at the right point of time, it will give us the chance to finalize the long work we have spent on the development of HTC, I am convinced that, through our innovative solution, we can solve problems related to the sludge management, while at the same time making a significant contribution to protecting the climate and the environment", Stepan Kusche,  CEO of HTCycle GmbH
