Last Wednesday, our Innovationspark located in Relzow, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, received a visit of a delegation from the South African Embassy in Berlin led by Mr. Jacob Moatshe, the Economic Counsellor at the South African Embassy and representatives from the Nehawu Investment Holding Enterprises (Pty) Ltd (NIHE), highlighted by the presence of Mr Neal Thobejane, CEO, accompanied by Messrs Lufundiso Ncapayi, Business Development Executive and Sabath Mahonono, Director and COO of the holding. The purpose of the visit was to explore collaboration with our entity in the renewable sector.
The delegation was received by Mr. Stepan Kusche, CEO, Mr. Steffen Reins, COO and Mr. Michael Steinfurth, the Executive Assistant of the company, who accompanied the delegation through our model park which works and is fully powered by autonomous energy. To create it, we relied on a combination of a photovoltaic system, a solar thermal system, and a battery storage.
A tour of the facilities began in which the guests learned more about our technology types, all the processes and the main characteristics of our technologies. In addition to the photovoltaic and battery storage systems, hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) was also a very important milestone for the guests. Since its commercial launch in 2010, HTCycle has aroused great interest among the media, authorities, industrial sectors, wastewater treatment plants, all thanks to its technological innovations.
The representatives from South Africa described the current situation of the renewable energy sector from their country, they talked about how renewable energy, sustainable energy and recycling can provide better living conditions for the population. We all agreed that South Africa should turn resources like the sun, wind, biomass, biofuels etc. into attractive investment markets, make better use of the international funding options available to develop sustainable energy systems that support the economic transformation of the country.
All African participants appreciated the IPI Group's high standards of development and technologies. The guests showed great interest in a possible cooperation and a close partnership with the IPI Group. The IPI leadership team was invited to South Africa for a visit to establish further business cooperation.
